After an early start for the drive to Dublin and flight to Geneva, and feeling very nervous checking my bike in, everything went perfectly to plan and the bike even arrived before me in the baggage hall in Geneva.
A brief moment where I couldn’t remember how to refit the rear mech hanger but soon had the bike built and click clacked my way out of arrivals.
Nervous of delays, I hadn’t planned to make any progress on the route today, booking a hotel in Geneva, so I took the afternoon to explore the center of Geneva and stretch the legs along the shore of the lake. Definitely felt the heat riding in the afternoon, even on a very flat route, so it’ll be interesting to see much effect that has when I set out for real tomorrow.
Found a very unexpected “beach club” where I turned back, so felt it would be rude not to stop for a beer. Then got stung by a bee on the way back, otherwise all is well and I’m ready to set off at sunrise tomorrow to try and beat the heat as best I can.
